Unbelievable!- IOW PRIDE wrote a facebook message about the following-
KARL STEADMAN was representing the IOW at the WINTER PRIDE UK ARTS AWARDS at the HOUSE OF ST. BARNABAS in London.
The exhibition is being brought to the QUAY ARTS IOW in June 2018 for 2 months and will be unveiled on friday 15th June.
A photo of one of the paintings was published which showed nipples.
Consequently the post was taken off with the following reason-
'It looks like something you posted doesn't follow our Community Standards. We restrict the display of nudity and sexual onto face book.
When is art NOT art and when does it become pornography? Considering the amount of abuse, trolling, vile messages, violence and racism posted on facebook are 2 NIPPLES really that dangerous to the fabric of society? I THINK NOT.
